When a Scythian king dies, they strangle his wives and servants and bury them with him. Like the Normans they drink from the skulls of their enemies. Quivers for arrows made out of an enemy’s arm and hand, nails and all. A cape made from the scalps of enemies. But in their tombs we find jewelry and weapons decorated with animal motifs of the highest quality. The same motifs occur in the tattoos of the two Pazyryk warriors found in the permafrost of the Pazyryk valley. The female warrior was appropriately named the Scythian Ice Maiden. The designs are mythical creatures and representations of tigers, deers and mountain goats.
